Take Note Transcription is a full-service medical and courtroom case transcription company based in Durham, North Carolina. We have been in the transcription business since 1995. We abide by a strict code of ethics to provide quality transcription combined with fair business practices.
Stephanie Szolnoki is the founder and CEO of Take Note Transcription. She is an experienced transcriptionist with a degree in Medical Office Technology, a certificate in Medical Transcription, and many satisfied clients. She was recently certified by UNC-Chapel Hill in Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) for Human Research.
Our mission at Take Note Transcription is to be a leader in the transcription industry by providing quality, accurate, verbatim transcription to all industries. Our team of professionals delivers customized solutions and exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of integrity to each other, our clients and their patients or clients.

Each of our transcriptionists has been:

Take Note Transcription feels that quality assurance is extremely important. From the moment we hire a transcriptionist, we assess their backgrounds and skills to best match them to client accounts. Our transcriptionists are thoroughly screened to be sure that they meet the qualifications that we have established, which includes having a minimum of two years experience.
Furthermore, our transcriptionists have knowledge of current medical and legal terminology, disease processes, diagnoses, medications, and laboratory values in addition to proficiency in English grammar, usage and punctuation.
Take Note Transcription takes quality assurance very seriously in order to ensure that your finished documents are error free.
All of our transcriptionists strive to ensure that every document is 100% accurate. Our quality assurance editor is responsible for making sure that all documents meet content and client format standards and provide ongoing feedback to our transcriptions, which helps to maintain our high quality standards.
- Our transcriptionists are given one-on-one training sessions with an experienced transcriptionist trainer who is proficient with all of our systems. The transcriptionist is also given access to contact the trainer or the company owner at any time. This provides constant feedback so the transcriptionist can feel confident and secure that he/she always has someone to go to for help, should the need arise.
- Quality assurance supervision is ongoing. After the transcriptionists are trained, they are kept on full quality assurance supervision for a full 30 days during which time our editors maintain that all rules and regulations are being followed and that content and format are meeting Take Note Transcriptions high standards.
- If, after 30 days, a transcriptionist has proven to meet our standards, he/she is released to work independently. However, we do continue to edit notes and perform random checks periodically to assure that our work is of the highest quality.
We also customize our work to meet each individual client’s needs. We provide flexible transcription services designed specifically to help improve all of our clients’ individualized needs.
HIPAA Compliance
All of our employees must sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement and are required to sign a HIPAA Compliance form stating that all information and system access will be kept secure at all times.
Our entire workforce is trained on issues of privacy, security and confidentiality.
